Partial Hospitalization Program

Intensive daily support without leaving your life behind.

The most intensive outpatient level of care

PHP — Partial Hospitalization Program — provides 5 days per week, 5–6 hours per day of clinical treatment. You attend structured therapy, skills groups, and individual sessions during the day, then return home each evening. No overnight stay required.

PHP is typically the right starting point after detox or inpatient care, or for adults entering treatment with moderate to severe substance use disorders who need intensive, evidence-based support without residential placement.

🌿 In-Person, Virtual, or Blended — Your Choice

We believe in-person community creates the strongest recovery foundation. We also offer virtual and blended schedules for those in rural areas or with demanding work and family commitments. We'll work with you to find the right format from day one.

PHP is the right level of care if…

PHP is designed for adults who need intensive daily support but are stable enough to live outside a residential facility.

🏥

Coming out of detox or inpatient

You've completed medical detox or a residential program and need intensive structure to build on that foundation.

🌊

Moderate to severe substance use

Your use has significantly impacted your work, relationships, or health and you need more than weekly therapy to stabilize.

🧠

Co-occurring mental health needs

You're managing depression, anxiety, PTSD, or another condition alongside substance use and need daily clinical oversight.

🏠

Stable enough to live at home

You have a stable, sober-supportive living environment and don't require 24-hour medical supervision.

🔄

Previous treatment & relapse

You've tried outpatient before and found it wasn't intensive enough. PHP provides the daily structure that makes the difference.

🌱

Ready to commit fully

You're ready to go all-in — 5 days a week, full engagement. PHP works when you show up alongside a team that believes in you.

Intensive Outpatient Program

Rebuild your life without putting it on hold.

Intensive treatment that fits around your life

IOP — Intensive Outpatient Program — delivers clinically proven addiction treatment 3 days per week, 3 hours per session. You maintain your job, your family responsibilities, and your daily routine while getting the structured support that creates lasting change.

IOP is the right fit for adults stepping down from PHP, those with mild to moderate substance use who don't need daily intensity, and anyone who needs real clinical support without disrupting everything else in their life.

💼 Most clients maintain full-time employment during IOP

Three days a week, three hours per session. We work with your schedule to find session times that accommodate your work hours — so your recovery doesn't require you to put your livelihood on hold.

Keep Your Job

Three days a week, three hours a session. Most clients maintain full- or part-time employment during IOP. We offer morning and evening session times where possible.

👨‍👩‍👧

Stay with Your Family

You sleep at home every night. Your kids, your partner, your life — all of it stays in place while you do the work that makes you a better presence in it.

🧠

Evidence-Based Treatment

IOP is one of the most well-researched levels of addiction care. With qualified clinicians, real structure, and peer community, outcomes rival residential treatment for most adults.

👥

Real Peer Community

Whether in-person or virtual, you'll build real relationships with a cohort of adults who understand what you're going through. Community is a cornerstone — not an afterthought.

📋

Personalized Treatment Plan

Your IOP plan is built around your history, challenges, and goals — not a template. Individual therapy + group + skills training, all coordinated by your clinical team.

🌱

Built for the Long Game

IOP isn't just about getting through the weeks — it's about building the life skills, community, and aftercare plan you need to stay well for years, not just months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both Programs

Does treatment require me to live at the facility?

No. Both PHP and IOP are outpatient programs — you return home each evening. You can live at home, with family, or at a sober living like Revive Recovery Homes. No overnight stay required at either level of care.

Both Programs

Is PHP or IOP covered by insurance?

Yes — both PHP and IOP are covered levels of care under most major insurance plans when clinically appropriate. We provide free insurance verification before you commit to anything. Call (512) 557-7832 or visit our insurance page.

Both Programs

What's the difference between PHP and IOP?

PHP is more intensive — 5 days/week, 5–6 hours/day, typically lasting 2–6 weeks. IOP is the next step down — 3 days/week, 3 hours/day, typically lasting 6–12 weeks. Most clients begin in PHP and transition to IOP as they stabilize. Both use the same evidence-based curriculum and clinical team.

PHP

Can I work while attending PHP?

It's challenging to maintain full-time work during PHP given the 5-day, 5–6 hour daily commitment. Some clients take FMLA leave, reduce hours, or work evenings. We can discuss realistic scheduling options for your situation.

IOP

Can I work while attending IOP?

Yes — most clients maintain full-time or part-time employment during IOP. Sessions are 3 days/week, 3 hours/day. We work with your schedule to find session times that accommodate your work hours.

IOP

Can I do IOP if I live far from Maxwell or San Marcos?

Yes. We offer fully virtual IOP for adults anywhere in Texas, and blended schedules for those who can attend some in-person sessions. Distance is not a barrier — call us to discuss your options.

IOP

Do I need to have done PHP first to start IOP?

No. Many clients enter treatment directly into IOP — particularly those with mild to moderate substance use who don't need daily PHP-level intensity. Your assessment will determine the right starting point for you.

Both Programs

How quickly can I start?

Same-day and next-day starts are often available. Call (512) 557-7832 — our team will complete a brief phone assessment and verify your insurance, often within the hour. We don't believe in making people wait when they're ready to get help.

Ready to take the first step toward real recovery?

Our admissions team is available 24/7. One call is all it takes — free, confidential, and no pressure. We'll figure out what level of care is right for you and get you started.
